In the short time since I last blogged a lot has changed but I’ve done so little training. Last time I mentioned I was going to try to exorcise the demons of my unfortunate failure to get the sub 3hr I wished for at Blackpool marathon. I also mentioned I had been disappointed with my first marathon attempt at the White peak marathon.

Well, I’ve made a decision. Not only am I going to run along the golden mile + 25.2miles battling demon no.2 but I am going to also battle demon no.1 up the high peak & Tissington trail again.

April 6th 2014 Blackpool Marathon then 5week 6days later
May 17th 2014 White peak marathon. Can I slay both demons in the space of 6 weeks? I think I can.

I will be running these in aid of the Hungtingtons Disease Association. Up until a year ago I knew very little about Huntingtons disease but there is plenty of information in the website.

What i have learnt is this – Huntington’s disease, which is often called HD, is an hereditary disorder of the central nervous system.

It used to be known as Huntington’s Chorea or HC.

Huntington’s disease usually develops in adulthood and can cause a very wide range of symptoms.

The disease affects both men and women.

Currently there is no cure for the illness, but there are many ways to manage symptoms effectively.

One person i know who does know about HD is friend, conditioning coach and local gym owner Kris King.

In 2014 he will be cycling and running around the coast of Britain, generally cycling 100miles one day then running 26.2miles the next. This is a massive effort well worth everyones support.

Hi my names Kris King, In July 2014 I will be cycling and running around the coast of Britain in 31 Days. I will be cycling 100 miles one day and then running a marathon the next without rest for a month to raise money and awareness for Huntingtons disease. To help raise awareness I will be visiting local radio stations to let people know about the disease and raise much needed funds to help sufferers of HD and their families.
To donate money to the cause please visit my justgiving page, every little helps! To find out more about the inspiration of the man who inspired this trip please keep clicking on and following my blog to hear the story of the incredible Dr Phillip Stavish and his very devoted family.

Kris grew up in the presence of HD and knows first hand the effects of this debilitating disease. Please like his page on Facebook and follow him in Twitter.

Anyway bye for now.
