White Peak Marathon 16 week away
An easy week of good quality running as left me buoyed and ready for more Marathon mileage building this coming week.
Thursday night was Hallamshire Harriers Club run night.Went with intention of taking it easy but being told we were running up Herries road meant it wasnt going to be as easy as planned. 20 of us set off from the clubhouse and quickly realised I was feeling really strong, picked up pace going up Herries road and carried on feeling strong all the way round. :y: Brilliant I thought, bring on Parkrun and chance for 5k PB Saturday after a Friday rest day.
Friday came & went like a meaningless one night stand.
Saturday was PARKRUN PB attempt day. Woke up 10min before alarm and thought I am going to PB today. Got to endcliffe Park with time to spare. Met Shefflad the new guy on RW Sheffield social for 1st time. Nice guy. I was talking to him, Baz, Richie & Walt about how I was planning to run 18min 45sec, A new PB by 11seconds. race started for me at a good pace which I picked up slightly past 2nd lake in park and maintained this pace, finished 1st lap just off right pace for time prediction. 2nd lap began and Terry from Rotherham Harriers started to catch me so picked up pace with him right on my shoulder. here he stayed for rest of parkrun with us matching each other step for step including a sprint finish. Both of us finished with 18min 41sec but me in 6th & him in 7th as I JUST beat him past the post. A new PB by 15seconds. Job done. New PB for Richie (by 1 1/2min) too. well done mate.
Today, Sunday was going for a planned walk up pea royd lane to green moor with wifey, the dog Rusty & the puppy Daisy as part of her gym training.
Nice walk done in 23min 23secs. Try again next month to see if she can walk/run it quicker. Daisy the 6month little Patterdale found it hard going collapsing first time on bridge over Bypass at middle of hill . She got up & carried on to top of hill, a 500ft climb.
A rest on a bench on green moor road for 5min and we set back off along road where Daisy fell over twice and struggled to get back up. Emma carried her for a bit and we set off down public footpath towards underbank road. Rusty thought it would be amusing(for him anyway) to push daisy over into some mud. Emma carried her again as her little legs couldnt do much more.
We got onto Manchester road and daisy walked all the way to across from the garage where daisy got what i guess was puppy cramp. a couple of whines from her and she was carried rest of way home by wifey Emma. 3.92mile walk. Rusty on arriving home, decided to be ill for 30min. Hes Ok now.
Well done Wifey, rusty and little collapsing Daisy
As i write this, this is the scene on the sofa
